Our homes can appeal to more than one of the five senses. For instance, Kelly Hadin, buyer for Shine … a lifestyle, in Royal Oak, says that scent is a part of your home. “When you’re going to Grandma’s house, you remember what it smells like,” she says.

Hadin suggests spreading pleasant scents around your house, especially when you’re entertaining. “It might be a fall night and you have the fire going. You can use a candle to carry that scent into another room,” she says.
