South Indiana Street home wins decorating contest

The Justin and Brittany Eubank home at 1025 S.Indiana St. in Greeencastle (corner of Indiana and Berry streets) has been named the winner of the 2014 Home for the Holidays decorating contest sponsored by the Greater Greencastle Chamber of Commerce.

Forget about those old bubble lights, plywood cutouts and trendy tinsel, the computer age has arrived for the Home for the Holidays Christmas decorating contest.

The home of Justin and Brittany Eubank, at the northeast corner of Indiana and Berry streets in Greencastle’s South End, is the 2014 winner of the Greater Greencastle Chamber of Commerce contest, making Justin Eubank a second-generation winner.

Highland Home Decorating Contest winners get nod

HIGHLAND | The Highland Parks and Recreation Department has announced the winners of its Highland Home Decorating Contest for the holiday season.

First place was awarded to Jim Laviolette at 9121 Idlewild Drive, while second place went to Tom Banas at 3433 41st Place, and third place went to the Johnsen family at 3003 100th St.

The Best New Entry is the home of Bill Fowle at 8127 Robertson Place, while Best Theme honors went to Samuel Widdall at 3220 41st St.

Honorable Mention recognition went to Matt Hanft at 3410 Jewett Ave. and Michael Cardone at 3743 Alti Court.

“After a thorough review and careful consideration, our judges from the park board have determined the winners for the 2014 Home Decorating Contest,” said Recreation Director Dave Byers.

Prizes consisted of gift cards.
